Roseborough News!

Here is a bunch of pictures that sums up our past 2 weeks, since I haven't done very good at keeping up on here in a while. First, December 9th, Chris was in his first Christmas Program at school. His class sang 'Jingle Bells' and 'Santa's using zebra's now' and he knew every word to both. He looked so cute and of course, the shorty was in the front row, but on the positive side, easier to see him:) Next is Chris on Santa's lap at my mom's ward Christmas party December 10th. And when Santa asked him what Christmas was about, Chris proceeded to tell him it was about kids getting presents:( I felt like I'd failed as a mother. But later he told me he knew it was about Jesus's birth. That helped some, but it would have been nice if that could have been his first answer. Then there's our sealing day. December 16th, the day after Ben and I's 2 year anniversary, we were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogus temple for time and all eternity. It was an amazing day. Weather kept a few travelers away, but we were glad they were safe. It was beautiful, simply put, a PERFECT DAY! Two days before that, I had a hard time getting ready for church. Stuff isn't fitting as well as it used to. So Monday, a friend of mine and I bought material, and her mother-in-law made my skirt. They matched my boots, which is what I was going for, and it was nice to have something look cute and fit. And last, but not least, my 24 weeks along picture. I feel like I'm getting huge, but doc says I'm right on with where I'm supposed to be. It's frustrating to only have my pregnancy with Chris to compare to. I only gained 19 pounds with him from begining to delivery. I've already gained that much with this one, and I still have 4 months to go. But I'm glad she's healthy and I'm not going to worry about the weight until after she's here. Hope this catches everyone up. And I hope everyone has a great Christmas!

Visiting!

I am up in Bear Lake right now because my little boy was in the Christmas program at his school yesterday. I get to keep him 2 extra days and take him to school. We're having fun. He is getting so smart and bigger. I still have a hard time believing he's old enough to be in school, but I guess that's every parents thought as their kids grow up. I will post pictures when I get home, but for now, I just wanted to put on an update. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, Thanksgiving already here...and gone. Yesterday was a fun day. It was different being away from our families, but we had a good time making our own memories. First thing yesterday morning, Ben, Chris, and I started on making the pies. That was one of the few things Ben had asked me, was that at our Thanksgiving, we have some of his mom's home-made cherry pies. So we got the recipe and made the ventured. This was my first pie that didn't come with all the ingredients in a box. Having to make it from scratch is nothing like making it out of a box. But we all chipped in and did our best.

I don't think they turned out bad, and they taste really good, and that's all that matters. This is a picture of the one that turned out the best so it's the one you get to see. We did our best and made great memories.

This is our Thanksgiving Feast! It's not huge, but it suited our family just fine. We had turkey(light and dark meat because Ben's favorite is the dark), mashed potatoes, green salad, and apple/snickers salad. And of course the pies for dessert. I found out yesterday that if you don't put your turnkey in the oven until noon, you don't get Thanksgiving in the afternoon, you get dinner. Between pies and the turkey, we kept the stove hot all day. The smell was delicious. And I'm far enough into my pregnancy to enjoy it, not get neaseated from it. I'm thankful for that.

After dinner, we took the fat and skin and some trimmings from the turkey out to let the dogs enjoy their Thanksgiving too. They loved the food. Then we took them out to play. No, Chris isn't sitting on Harley. He was trying to catch her and she wouldn't stands still for a pictures so this was an attempt to catch her. But it made a fun picture to share.

I hope you all had as great of a Thanksgiving as we did. I realise I have so much to be grateful for. My family, the gospel, my home, my husband, my son, my healthy pregnancy, my husband's job, my friends, the atonment.....and I could go on and on. I am truely blessed. I hope you all had a chance to realise how lucky we all are. Thanksgiving should come more often if it helps us truely remember what great blesssings we have in our lives.

20 weeks! Half way:)

Wow! It feels like this 20 weeks has taken forever, but then when I think about it, it also seems like it's gone by pretty fast. I am lucky though because this time, my morning sickness ended, for the most part, with the end of my 1st trimester. I don't mind being pregnant near as much when I'm not sick through the WHOLE thing. I have been blessed. Last pregnancy, I had family all around me all the time. I'm sure Heavenly Father knew my stengths and my weaknesses and thought better of making me face that all by my lonesome out here in Oak City. I am starting to show earlier this time then I remember showing last time, but I hear that's normal. I'm still not showing as much as everyone says I should, but I'm okay with that. Thank you long torso's. I went in for an ultrasound on Friday and the x-ray tech told me there was no way I was 20 weeks, until he measured the baby, he wouldn't believe me. Ben now believes that it's a girl, and he is just fine with that. We are really excited and grateful.

Old habits die hard!

It is still so hard for me to put on a post without a picture. But I know I like to see other peoples new post's, even when they don't have pictures so here goes again. We got Chris this past weekend for our first offical weekend since this new "arrangement" took over. It was so hard only having him 3 days, but I feel like the Lord is helping me big time to cope with it. We just had to have as much fun as we could while he was here. So we painted Christmas orniments, went bowling, rode scooter/walked to the park, read books, played with the dogs, and he helped me cook.

Changing the subject before I start to cry. I have an ultrasound on Friday, the 21st, to check the heart. Ben has decided he doesn't trust the "lady at the mall" on what the sex of the baby is so he won't let me buy a thing until the "guy who know's what he's doing" at the hospital confirms it. So I guess I can wait another 3 days.

I am now offically Relief Society Secretary in my ward. So that along with my calling as an activitier committee member, I am keeping busy with Christmas Program planning.

I am super excited about the Twilight movie that comes out in 2 days:) It's been a crazy ride trying to get to the mid-night premier Thursday night, but hopefully nothing else goes wrong and that I'll be able to go.

Sorry this has been so random, but I have a lot going through my mind, and I sometimes don't know how to get it all out unless it's like this. Thanks you to all of you for your support, prayers, fasting, and caring. I love you all.

Bad News

I heard back from the intirm evaluator yesterday about where Chris would go to school while the courts figured out where Chris would stay permenantly. He decided it would be better for Chris to stay in Montpelier because their school system has a 4 day week and ours has a 5 day week. And also between his dad's family and my family, Chris has a better support system up there. So we spoke to our lawyer and told him to continue on with the next step. I'm not letting Chris go that easily. So needless to say, yesterday was a hard day. Chris saw me crying and asked me what was wrong. I tried to explain to him that he would have to go and stay at his dad's house for a while and go to school down there. Chris started crying and told me he didn't want to go to school with is dad, he wanted to go here, and stay with me. That was hard. So we're fighting this. Thank you all for be such a good support system for me. I love you all for it.

It's a GIRL!! 16 weeks!

I know the pictures are backwards, but I'm still figuring out all this blog stuff. This is the ultrasound from the mall. If you've had a baby, you kind of have an idea what your looking for. Of course, it's a GIRL!!! If you can't tell by the little writing at the top of the picture or the title of the post. And for those of you who care, there is a little arrow on the right side of the black area that is pointing to 3 lines, which is the proof on it being a girl. We are very excited. Ben was hoping for a boy, but he is just peachy with a girl. He's had fun trying to come up with a name we both like. Thank you all for sharing this with us:)

This is me at 16 weeks. I know, not a lot of difference from the last belly picture, but I'm doing my best to keep everyone updated. It was taken October 24th, 2008. I don't have very much patients so we went to the ultrasound place in the Provo Towne Mall.

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

We got Chris a roping steer head and rope to practice with. He's been talking about roping for a while now so we decided it was time to let him try it out. He loves it. He's still not very good with it...but he doesn't give up. Even when the rope pinches his hand as he swings it around his head. These were taken Sunday October 19th. Yeah, no snow, no coats, it's been nice. And we are taking it in as much as we can because we know how soon it'll be gone. I'm hoping that it'll last at least until Halloween. It's would be nice to be able to buy a costume you like, not just because it would fit a snow suit well underneath. All the leaves are falling off the trees and it is beautiful. I am so grateful to live in a place as beautiful as this. Our season are magnificent and I can't imagine being anywhere else.

12 Weeks!

Not much to show, but this was me when I was 3 months along, 12 weeks. Ben took the picture for me, and we're going to try to remember to take one every month. Sorry all of my blogs have been about the pregnancy lately. It's a big part of my life right now. Thanks for all of your support.

Baby again:)

Proud are we of our baby. We went to the hospital today to have a crown measurement done to ensure that the baby is where we think he/she is to make sure we have the right due date. We're right on. And we also got this picture in the process. It's fun to see it take shape and have it actually look like a baby. We're really excited and wanted to share with you all.

First baby pictures!

Today was my first doctors appointment. After we got in there and got through the history, Dr. Jackson used a doppler to find the babies heart beat. After a few tries, he had an old ultrasound mechine that is kept there in the office brought in. He wanted to make sure everything was okay. He found the baby and he/she was just a movin and a groovin. The head is on the left and the feet are on the right. We get the nicer ultrasound done on Monday, to check the rump to crown measurement to make sure I'm as far along as we think I am. Which is 13 weeks today, according to the doctors calculations. My due date is April 11, 2009. Ben was so excited to see the baby on the screen. He was almost in a panic when he couldn't find the pictures once we got into the car. He's going to be a great father. We are so blessed to have this blessing coming into our lives.

BYU Game!

Ben and I got BYU football season tickets this year. We've had a blast with them. We're clear up in the stands, but we don't care, we just enjoy being there. Chris loves Cosmo. He had so much fun at the game that day. He's a true Cougars fan;) He almost has the Cougars Song down too. This pictures was taken after the first game of the season against Northern Iowa. We won of course. But this is also a picture of me 2 months along. Not much to show, but you have to start somewhere. I'll be 3 months on Monday and will get an updated picture then and post it. I always like to look at everyone else's progression pictures, so I might as well share too:)

Weird blog thing!

I think I have a problem. I get on here to check on everyone, but just because I don't have a new picture to put on, I convince myself I can't post anything. Why do I HAVE to have a picture to post a blog? I don't know. But I'm pushing through and sorry there isn't any visual aids. I am 10 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. I am due in April. And go to the doctor for the first time on Sept. 29th. And if he tells me I'm not pregnant, I'm am going to complain about the longest fit of the flu there has ever been! Just kidding. Anyway, Ben and I are doing great. He's kinda tired of my moodyness...and throwing up, but other then that, we're good. Chris is getting big. I can't believe it was 6 years ago that I was doing this with him. Crazy how time flies. Anyway, hope this finds you all well.

Memory Game!

This is my first time doing a tag, but I thought it would be fun.

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

It's actually pretty fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.I love making memories. :D Hopefully we've had many happy ones together. :D

BASSETT FAMILY REUNION

The first ever Rusty Bassett Family Reunion! We all got together at Bret & Heidi's in Powell. Heidi put forth alot of effort to set everything up so all of us could just come and relax. Our first day, Thursday, was spent at Horseshoe Bend. Bret's boat is called the "Blue Bonnet" or "Driftwood" depending on how it's running that day. This picture is with everyone except Ben & Tia, they showed up later that night.

This is Cody, Chris, and Jacob getting ready to ride the tude. Everyone that wanted to rode the tube and everyone had a blast.

The second and third day, Friday and Saturday, we went up camping at Bear Lodge. Friday we went fishing at the kid pond. This is Grandpa Rusty helping Chris fish with his SpongeBob fishing pole. He did catch one:)

The fourth and final day, after getting home, showered, and settled from camping, we all got ready and went the the fire hall to take family pictures. The only 3 people not there for pictures was my Ben, Tara's Matt, and Heidi's Erik. Ben and Matt, working; Erik, baseball. Haven't got a copy of those yet, but this is Zack, Jacob, Chris, and Britnee snacking on the goldfish and peanuts. The reunion was a blast. Makes it hard to leave, but I'm already looking forward to next years. I love my family very much. I am so greatful for them all. I'm very blessed.

Country Jam ! !

My mom, Ben, me, Bart, and Bart's wife, Michelle all got to go to Country Jam June 26-29. Four days of concerts in the boiling sun.....so much fun. We all had a blast! It was hot, no doubt about it, but that's just part of Country Jam. Wouldn't be the same without it. This first picture is of Ben and I sitting in our seats just before the Joe Nichol's concert.
It does finally cool off, but it takes about 30 minutes after the sun goes down. But then it's really nice and you just get to concentrate on the concert and not staying cool. This is Ben and I dancing to Tim McGraw. He put on a good concert and it was fun to listen to some of his older songs live.
Tim McGraw! Who needs anymore explination then that. But in case you do, this is him singing 'Blue'. You just have to be there to understand how much fun it is.
This is me with Sugarland. They were the final concert on the final night. Ben and I got to go and meet them before their concert. Chris has heard their song 'All I want to do' and he has decided that he is gonna marry her. Ben told her that when we met her and she asked what his name was and said that was so cute. They were nice. And her accent is even stronger then in her singing. It was so much fun.

My sister-in-law Michelle (Bassett) came and stayed with Ben & I for a few days and I thought I'd share with you our adventures. First off, we got to go to the Twin Falls Temple site on Thursday and got pictures. We convinced one of the construction worker to take a pictures for us. Beautiful!
Then Bart came up on Friday night and Saturday, we met a few of my neighbors at the park and did slack lining. It's kind of like tight rope walking except for it's not very high and the line doesn't stay completely still. You have to learn how to make it stay still. Fun and interesting!
The actual reason for the whole trip was for Bart to bring up the bed that he made me. It turned out amazing and Ben and I absolutely love it. Ben said he wanted a big bed and he got it. The head board itself is 6 feet tall. Yes, I have to step on the edge to get in, but I love it:)
Saturday night we got to go to the Monster Truck show that was in Twin. Ben doesn't look real happy, but we all had a blast. It was so much fun spending time together.....and the monster trucks were cool too;)
And then, after the show was over, we got to go down and take pictures by the trucks. I am She-Woman, the most amazing, crazy strong twig woman in the world! Just kidding, but it was an awesome picture moment. All four of us posed that way once I started it. We had a great time. Spending time with family is one of the most rewarding thing ever. Have a great day:)

Summer.....Spring fun

This is Chris's fun new summer toy. We don'g have a pool around here(that is within reson of pricing) and the Snake River is a bit big for my 4 (almost 5) year old. Well, Monday was our first time trying it out. We had my neighbor, Becky, and her 3 kids, Russel-5, Chanel-almost 3, and Ambree-3 months, come play with us. Chris is climbing the rock climbing portion to get up to the slides while Chanel's aiming one of the the cannons at the slide.

This is Chris playing on Monday on the smaller slide. He's figured out that if you stay to the left, you can avoid getting sprayed by the shower sprayer that keeps the slide wet. It was over 70 degree's, but that water was still really cold.
Chris and Russel would race to the top, then let each other go down first because if they went down together, they'd splash on each other. It's one thing to splash on yourself, it's another to have someone else splash on you!
This is the 3 of them playing at the end of the bigger slide. The water was shallower and had an easier time warming up in the sun then the bigger pool. They had a blast! And us smart mothers' put them in sunscreen, but forgot to apply our own. Oops! But can't complain about a beautiful day, enough to get sunburnt and swim, in early May:)

Love the fam!

Rewind! This is Tara, Jaycee, KaDee, and I in Cody, WY swimming at the Rec Center over Christmas. It was freezing outside so we found inside activities and made the best of it. It had a slide, play toys, hot tub, deep end, and a lap area. Others that were there were Britnee, Jacob, Cody, my mom, and Bret. During the week that we were there we also had a blast going to the movies to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and National Treasurer 2. We had cousins and other family come over too and we had fun eating and playing on Bret and Heidi's singstar. We got to do a lot of catch up with family we don't see very much and it was nice to catch up with them. I love my family.

$#%^& Toe!

Hey all........4 of you that read my blog(Tara, Teresa, Tia, and Jaycee). If anyone else reads my blog, hey to you too. I just wanted to write about my horrable accident the other day, if I told you about over the phone, bare with me, if you read it on the myfamily web sight, bare with me too. But the other day, I was getting ready and as I walked out of my closet, I stubbed my toe on this wire basket just out side my closet door. And this was no ordinary "Ouch, I stubbed my toe!" This was a "$%^&#$%$ bugger, son-of-a, danget all to heck" stub your toe. And the basket wasn't some little basket, it was heavy, and quite solid I found out. I've encluded a picture so you can somewhat share my pain.

PBR

My mom, dad, husband and I got to go to the PBR in Nampa April 4th and 5th. It was a good time. We really enjoyed watching the bulls and riders. We also enjoyed each others company. We had a great time hanging out at the mall, swimming in the pool at our hotel, and just spending time together, that we don't get to do very often. This trip isn't as much for the bulls as it is just a fun time to spend time together. I enjoy spending time with my family and love them very much!

It is a beautiful day! I'm awake, I had a good nights sleep, my husband and son love me, I have a nice warm house to stay in, and I couldn't be more blessed. I woke up with a shock this morning though. My little boy got his immunization shots yesterday for Kindergarten and was fine yesterday, but woke up in tears this morning because his legs hurt. Poor little guy is usually running around like a chicken with his head cut off, but today his is sitting very still and has already asked me to carry him around. But he's a trooper.

Happy Valentines Day!

This is my first day on blog spot and I'm excited. I am on the phone with my 10 yr old neice, Jaycee and she's walking me though it. She is so excited that I will be able to be one of her favorite people:) I will get better at this, but for now, this'll be it.
